About this casale
The prestigious Casale del Boschetto dating back to 1600 is located in a quiet, private and at the same time conveniently accessible location.
The exclusive home was renovated in 2012 in perfect harmony with the surrounding area, maintaining the typical features of the ancient Umbrian rural farmhouses. A project characterized by a series of gabled roofs spread over several levels and special and wide openings that maximize the view of the surrounding hills, offering unique moments. Colors, harmonies, geometries make every corner of the house a moment of daily emotion.
The property complex consists of a main building and a small outbuilding consisting of a room with bathroom. The main house is arranged on two levels, on the ground floor there is a large open space that includes a living room with stone fireplace, kitchen, bathroom, laundry and technical room. By means of an internal staircase, made of iron and glass, placed in the middle of the living room you can access the upper floor which consists of four rooms with bathroom and a loft made of iron and wood.
Externally, on the ground floor, we find a large porch with exposed wooden truss that overlooks the swimming pool with Jacuzzi and a beautiful waterfall that allows you to enjoy the neighboring landscape. While the second floor is made independent by an external stone staircase with a small loggia, from where you can see the village of Panicale. Completing the property is a beautiful, rigorously maintained garden nestled among olive trees, mulberry trees, wisteria and rosemary.
Historical Notes About
Panicale is a historical and picturesque village of Medieval origin which still maintains its structural and architectural characteristics. The town’s plan is structured in concentric circles and represents one of the most advanced systems for military defence. This structure allowed the fortress of Panicale to resist to several sieges throughout the centuries.
Property location
The property is located a few meters from Panicale, a small town which lies on a hill at the foot of Mount Petrarvella and overlooks Lake Trasimeno. Panicale has been included in the list “I Borghi più belli d’Italia” (Italy’s most beautiful towns) and has been awarded the Orange Flag by the Italian Touring Club. It is the ideal location to reach other typical Umbrian towns such as Città della Pieve, Paciano, Montepulciano, and Castiglione del Lago as well as larger cities such as Perugia, Assisi, Orvieto, and Foligno.
What to see in Panicale
Porta Perugina is the entrance to Piazza Umberto I where one can find a fountain in travertine which dates back to 1473. Higher up one encounters the Collegiate Church of San Michele Arcangelo, which contains a small museum with works by Caporali and Masolino da Panicale. Next, one comes across the Palazzo del Podestà which was built in the 12th century and is the highest point in Panicale. Descending along via Sellari one reaches via Cesare Caporali and the municipal theatre of the same name. Reaching Porta Fiorentina, one enters Piazza Regina Margherita and finds the deconsecrated church of Sant’Agostino, which is now home to the Museum of Tulle. Finally, there is the Church of San Sebastiano, dated between the 14th and 15th century, featuring frescos by Pietro Perugino.
